500g BORAX (DECAHYDRATE)

A source of the flux sodium oxide and the important glass former boric oxide. It has limited use in glazes because of its solubility in water. Both oxides can be introduced as frit, a nearly insoluble fused material stabilized by silica. In glass fusing it can be used to prevent devitrification of float glass.
